 Friday, January 24,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - Kinhtedothi said coffee prices in Vietnam increased by 500 VND per kg to between 124,000 and 125,000 VND per kilogram on January 24, 2024, compared to Yesterday.

The primary factors contributing to this increase include the decline of the US dollar and the strengthening of local currencies in exporting countries. Arabica prices are approaching a 50-year high, and Robusta prices are at their highest point in six weeks.
Prices by region in Vietnam are as follows:
  • In Lam Dong: 124,000 VND/kg
  • In Dak Lak (Cu M'gar): 124,500 VND/kg;
  • Ea H'leo and Buon Ho: 124,400 VND/kg;
  • In Dak Nong: 125,000 VND/kg in Gia Nghia and 124,900 VND/kg in Dak R'láp
  • In Gia Lai: 124,500 VND/kg in Chu Prông; 124,400 VND/kg in Pleiku and La Grai
  • In Kon Tum: 124,400 VND/kg
The price rise reflects a continued upward trend in the domestic market, with Robusta increasing for the fourth consecutive day. On international markets, Robusta coffee prices in London increased by 30 USD/ton for March 2025 contracts (5,482 USD/ton), and Arabica coffee in New York rose by 2.1 cents per pound for March 2025 contracts (343.95 cents per lb).
The ongoing increase is attributed to limited supply and rising demand, particularly before the Lunar New Year. The quality of Vietnamese coffee this year is highly regarded, providing a competitive edge on the global market.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development aims for a total coffee production of 1.98 million tons, with exports expected to rise to 24.4 million bags due to improved supply.
