AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, pepper prices today, January 23, 2025, range from 146,000 to 147,500 VND/kg in Vietnam's Central Highlands, with an increase of 500 VND/kg in Đắk Lắk and Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu. Vietnam, the world's largest pepper producer, accounts for 40% of global output and exports to 110 countries and territories.
Đắk Lắk Province: 147,500 VND/kg (+500 VND/kg).
Đắk Nông Province: 147,500 VND/kg (unchanged).
Gia Lai Province: 147,000 VND/kg (+2,000 VND/kg).
Đồng Nai Province: 146,000 VND/kg (unchanged).
Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu Province: 146,500 VND/kg (+500 VND/kg).
Bình Phước Province: 147,000 VND/kg (unchanged).
Morning pepper prices have risen in Đắk Lắk and Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu but remain stable in other localities compared to the same time yesterday.
International Pepper Prices:
As per the latest trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) lists the following prices:
Black Pepper Lampung (Indonesia): 7,135 USD/ton (+0.03%).
Black Pepper Brazil ASTA 570: 6,100 USD/ton (-0.82%).
Black Pepper Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA: 9,000 USD/ton (unchanged).
White Pepper Muntok: 9,427 USD/ton (+0.03%).
White Pepper Malaysia ASTA: 11,600 USD/ton (unchanged).
For Vietnamese pepper:
Black Pepper (500 g/l): 6,350 USD/ton.
Black Pepper (550 g/l): 6,650 USD/ton.
White Pepper: 9,550 USD/ton.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), Vietnam remains the world's largest pepper producer, exporting to 110 markets.
U.S. market: Largest importer, receiving 72,311 tons in 2024, accounting for 28.9% of exports—a record-breaking figure, increasing 33.2% from 2023.
Vietnam’s pepper processing technology meets global standards, including in demanding markets such as the EU and UAE.
Domestic Industry Highlights:
Nearly 200 enterprises are involved in pepper processing and trading, including 14 deep-processing facilities.
Foreign-invested companies make up nearly 30% of export market share, with advanced processing technologies meeting ASTA, ESA, and JSSA standards.
Positive Outlook for 2025:
Early 2025 has seen a strong surge in pepper prices, signaling a positive outlook for Vietnam’s pepper industry. Low stock levels and rising demand from key markets like the U.S., EU, and China suggest further price increases in the near future.
