AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, rice prices in the domestic market today, January 22, 2025, have dropped sharply, with some types of paddy falling by 700 VND/kg. Transactions in the market for newly harvested paddy remain slow, and the supply is sparse.
Domestic Paddy Prices:
Based on updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in An Giang Province:IR 50404 (fresh): 5,500–5,700 VND/kg, down 700 VND/kg.
OM 5451: 5,800–6,000 VND/kg, down 700 VND/kg.
OM 18 (fresh): 7,600–7,800 VND/kg.
Dai Thom 8 (fresh): 7,600–7,800 VND/kg.
OM 380: 6,600–6,700 VND/kg.
Japanese rice: 7,800–8,000 VND/kg.
Nang Hoa 9: 9,200 VND/kg.
Market Observations:
In Dong Thap, Winter-Spring rice is trading slowly. Farmers are offering pre-Tet rice at stable prices, but demand is low.
In Can Tho, inquiries are slow, and transactions are minimal, with traders mainly sourcing small quantities of pre-Tet rice.
In Long An, early Winter-Spring rice is being offered slowly, but buyers remain hesitant.
In Soc Trang, early Winter-Spring rice has started to appear in some areas, but farmers are selling cautiously, and prices remain stable.
In Kien Giang, transactions are slow, with traders primarily scouting for purchases on behalf of companies. The Tân Hiệp and Rông Riêng areas are in the flowering and ripening stages.

Raw rice OM 380: 7,500–7,600 VND/kg, down 100 VND/kg.
Finished rice OM 380: 8,800–9,000 VND/kg.
Raw rice IR 504: 7,600–7,800 VND/kg, down 200 VND/kg.
Finished rice IR 504: 9,500–9,700 VND/kg.
By products:
Prices for byproducts range from 5,700–7,200 VND/kg:
Fragrant broken rice: 7,000–7,200 VND/kg.
Dry bran: 5,700–5,800 VND/kg.
Market Trends in Key Locations:
In Lấp Vò - Vàm Cống (Dong Thap): Supply is low, transactions are slow, and some warehouses are preparing for Tet.
In Sa Dec (Dong Thap): Sparse supply, prices for raw rice types remain unstable, and some large warehouses have closed for Tet.
At the Sa Dec market (Dong Thap): Low supply, relatively stable prices, and many warehouses have stopped buying.
In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang): Rice supply is minimal, prices are declining, and most of the available rice is of lower quality.

Common rice: 15,000–17,000 VND/kg.
Nang Nhen rice: 28,000 VND/kg.
Nang Hoa rice: 21,500 VND/kg.
Long-grain fragrant Thai rice: 20,000–22,000 VND/kg.
Huong Lai rice: 22,000 VND/kg.
Jasmine fragrant rice: 18,000–20,000 VND/kg.
Standard white rice: 17,500 VND/kg.
Taiwanese fragrant rice: 21,000 VND/kg.
Soc rice: 18,000 VND/kg.

Export Market:
Vietnamese export rice prices remain unchanged from yesterday:
5% broken rice: 419 USD/ton.
25% broken rice: 395 USD/ton.
100% broken rice: 326 USD/ton (Vietnam Food Association - VFA).
Rice prices continue to face downward pressure due to slow transactions and limited supply before the Tet holiday.
