Friday, September 20,2024AsemconnectVietnam - On Friday, robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area, fell by 800 VND to 122,500–123,000 VND per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.
Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND123,000/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND122,500/kg. Robusta coffee fell to 122,500VND per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha; to 123,000 VND per kg in Dak Lak; to 123,400-123,500 VND per kg in Dak Nong; to 122,900 VND per kg in Kon Tum, and to 122,800 - 122,900 VND per kg in Gia Lai.
In recent days, storm No. 4 caused moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms in the Central Highlands, with some places experiencing very heavy rain, forecast to affect coffee growing areas right before the new harvest season.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) commented that domestic coffee prices are stable because the supply has been exhausted and there are few transactions. Vietnam harvests coffee in November and December, so in September and October every year, the coffee output supplied to the market is at its lowest level of the year. The two largest suppliers in the world, Brazil and Vietnam, have both suffered crop failures due to climate change, which has affected prices. In addition, speculative factors on the London floor have also caused strong fluctuations in coffee prices.
