Viettel Global (VGI) increased revenue by 25% in the first 6 months of 2024

AsemconnectVietnam - Viettel Global Investment Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Global - VGI) has just announced its consolidated financial report for the first 6 months of 2024 after being audited with results slightly higher than the previous self-prepared report.

Accordingly, Viettel Global's sales and service revenue increased impressively by 25%, with after-tax profit reaching VND2,855 billion.
The report shows that Viettel Global's sales and service revenue reached VND16,594 billion, an increase of 25% compared to the first 6 months of 2023, more than 5 times higher than the world's telecommunications growth rate (4.3% according to Gartner). Pre-tax profit reached VND4,740 billion. The Corporation has recorded 10 consecutive quarters of revenue growth compared to the same period. Q2/2024 is also the quarter with the highest revenue ever.
In the first 6 months of the year, all 9 markets grew strongly, typically Lumitel in Burundi increased by 31%, Unitel in Laos increased by 27%, Mytel in Myanmar increased by 24%, Movitel in Mozambique increased by 23%, Natcom in Haiti increased by 18%.
In particular, e-Wallet companies grew very impressively, such as M_mola (Mozambique) increased by 169%, U-money (Laos) increased by 62%, Halopesa (Tanzania) increased by 34%, Mosan (East Timor) increased by 34%. By the end of June 2024, e-Wallet service revenue reached VND2,089 billion, accounting for 11% of total revenue, e-Wallet subscribers reached 18.5 million subscribers, accounting for 41% of mobile subscribers.
In May 2024, Movitel (Viettel in Mozambique) successfully rose to the No. 1 position in market share, marking the 7th market in which Viettel Global holds the No. 1 position. These are important milestones affirming the position of Vietnamese enterprises in the international arena.
On June 5, 2024, Viettel Global held the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, approving all proposals of the Board of Directors. In 2024, the Corporation aims to maintain a double-digit growth rate, in which traditional telecommunications growth is > 10%, non-telecommunication services grow from 20-30%. Viettel Global also aims to increase at least 6 million digital subscribers.
Viettel Global implements a strategy to open up business space in both depth and breadth. In terms of depth, for sustainable and effective development, Viettel Global maintains its No. 1 position and continues to expand new services in the market such as Data Center, Cloud, E-wallet, convenient digital services for the government and people... In terms of breadth, at the invitation of countries, Viettel Global continues to survey new markets to seek investment and business opportunities.
