Germany is hosting the 12^th ASEM Customs Directors-General and  Commissioners Meeting  on 16-17 October 2017 in Berlin. The ASEM Customs Directors-General and Commissioners meet every 2 years to discuss relevant developments and priorities in the area of customs.

The 12^th ASEM DG-Commissioners Meeting will focus on the main strategic approaches and operational solutions arising from the Actions set out in the ASEM Action Plan 2016–2017; the Meeting will also address broader customs-related topics.

A number of current concerns will be explored; inlcuding Customs Trade Facilitation (including Authorised Economic Operators, Coordinated Border Management, Paperless Cargo Processes and Passenger Name Records) Product Safety, Intellectual Property Rights, and the Visibility of ASEM activities.

Deciding on ASEM’s future work on a Berlin Declaration and, relatedly, adopting a structure for the upcoming Action Plan 2018–2019, will be another important step at the Meeting. The working language for the conference will be English.
