16th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights: Persons with Disabilities and Human Rights

The 16th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights, will take place on 8-10 November 2016 in Beijing, China, on the theme “Persons with Disabilities and Human Rights”.
The second day will be devoted to the four working groups discussions, each focusing on one of the following topics:
WG 1 - Participation in political and cultural life
WG 2 - Social and economic inclusion
WG 3 - Legal status, justice and remedy
WG 4 - National implementation and international cooperation
The closing plenary, which takes place on the third day of the seminar, will feature the reports from the working groups.
The 16th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights is expected to bring together more than 120 participants, including senior government officials, organisations representing persons with disabilities and disability rights experts from across Asia and Europe. The Seminar will provide a unique platform for stakeholders active at the national, regional and international level to discuss the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities from a human rights-based approach to the topic.
