Vietnam Commodities Roundup on March 8, 2026– Coffee and Durian Prices Rose, Live Hog Market Held Steady

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s agricultural markets showed a generally positive tone on March 8, 2026, as prices of coffee, pepper and durian edged higher, while the live hog market stabilized nationwide.
Coffee prices approached VND97,000 per kg
Domestic coffee prices strengthened on March 8 as procurement prices in Vietnam’s key Central Highlands producing regions rose by 500–800 dong per kilogram compared with the previous day.
Local prices traded in a range of VND95,500–96,600 per kg, with Dak Lak and Gia Lai leading the market at VND96,500 per kg.
Meanwhile, Lam Dong recorded the sharpest increase, gaining 800 dong to reach VND96,300 per kg.
The upward movement in the domestic market was supported by gains on international exchanges.
On the London exchange, Robusta coffee futures for January 2026 delivery rose by $21 to $3,827 per tonne.
On the New York exchange, Arabica futures for March 2026 delivery increased by 4.6 cents to 297.6 cents per lb.
Brazilian exchanges showed mixed movements, with March 2026 contracts rising by 6.1 cents, while May 2026 contracts slipped by 0.9 cent.
Pepper prices edged up while global markets remained flat
Domestic pepper prices continued their mild upward trend, increasing by around 500 dong per kg in several regions.
Prices ranged between VND144,500 and VND146,500 per kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong posted the highest prices at VND146,500 per kg, while Gia Lai and Dong Nai traded at VND144,500 per kg. Prices in Ho Chi Minh City stood at VND145,000 per kg.
In contrast, the International Pepper Community (IPC) reported that global export prices remained largely unchanged.
Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper held at $6,953 per tonne, while Muntok white pepper stayed at $9,262 per tonne.
Vietnam’s export prices were also stable, with white pepper at $9,350 per tonne and black pepper ranging from $6,600 to $6,800 per tonne depending on grade.
Ri6 durian jumped while Thai premium durian remained at record levels
At local buying stations, Ri6 durian prices rose by about VND5,000 per kg compared with the previous day.
Grade A fruit traded between VND100,000 and VND108,000 per kg, while Grade B ranged from VND85,000 to VND93,000, and Grade C from VND43,000 to VND60,000.
Lower-grade fruit and pulp traded between VND17,000 and VND42,000 per kg.
Other premium durian varieties maintained strong prices. In the Mekong Delta region, Thai VIP durian was highly sought after, with Grade A selling for VND160,000–170,000 per kg and Grade B for VND140,000–150,000 per kg.
Musang King durian traded at VND130,000–135,000 per kg for Grade A fruit.
Other varieties such as Chuong Bo and Sau Huu also provided solid income for farmers, with procurement prices ranging from VND70,000 to VND90,000 per kg.
Live hog prices stabilized after recent fluctuations
After several days of volatility, Vietnam’s live hog market stabilized at a new price range of VND61,000–69,000 per kg nationwide.
In the northern region, prices ranged from VND61,000 to VND64,000 per kg, with Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Cao Bang posting the highest levels.
The central region and Central Highlands traded between VND61,000 and VND68,000 per kg. Lam Dong recorded the highest price at VND68,000, while Ha Tinh remained the lowest at VND61,000.
The southern region continued to post the highest prices nationwide, ranging from VND67,000 to VND69,000 per kg, with Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City all reaching VND69,000 per kg.
Domestic rubber steady as global prices rebounded
Vietnam’s domestic rubber market remained stable on March 8 across major companies.
At Ba Ria Rubber Company, fresh latex prices reached up to 452 dong per TSC degree for latex with a TSC content of 30 or higher. Scrap rubber traded between VND13,500 and VND18,000 per kg, depending on DRC levels.
At Mang Yang Rubber Company, fresh latex ranged between 443 and 448 dong per TSC, while coagulated rubber traded between 389 and 442 dong per kg.
Phu Rieng Rubber Company purchased fresh latex at 440 dong per TSC, while scrap rubber was priced at 400 dong.
Binh Long Rubber Company maintained latex prices between 386 and 396 dong per TSC, with scrap rubber at VND14,000 per kg for DRC 60%.
On global markets, rubber prices showed strong volatility during the first week of March. Prices fell sharply earlier in the week but rebounded toward the weekend.
Major exchanges including SGX, SHFE and Tocom saw renewed buying interest, reflecting stable demand from the Southeast Asian tire industry and support from the Chinese market.
