AsemconnectVietnam - According to the Vietnam 500 Largest Enterprises (VNR500) list recently published by Vietnam Report, VietinBank Insurance recorded a 23-rank increase, marking its fourth consecutive year in the ranking of leading enterprises in the Vietnamese economy.
In 2025, VietinBank Insurance (VBI) celebrates its 17th anniversary in the non-life insurance market. Over the past 17 years, from a young enterprise, VBI has continuously strived for innovation, creativity, and the development of diverse products and service quality, becoming one of the leading enterprises in terms of market share, revenue, and brand reputation.
Continuously from 2020 to 2025, despite facing many difficulties and challenges in the market, VBI has maintained positive growth momentum. Total insurance premium revenue doubled from VND2.2 trillion in 2020 to VND4.4 trillion in 2024 and is expected to surpass VND5 trillion in 2025, placing it among the top 10 highest-revenue businesses in the market. Key business lines such as health insurance, motor vehicle insurance, and property/engineering insurance have all experienced exceptional growth in revenue and customer service capacity.
In addition to growth in business indicators, in 2024-2025, in the face of significant damage caused by natural disasters, VietinBank Insurance - VBI actively supported customers in contingency planning, asset protection, and post-storm claims assessment and payment activities.
According to the company representative, in 2024, the company recorded over 800 cases of losses due to Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi), paying out over VND1,000 billion in compensation (the entire insurance industry paid out over VND12,000 billion). In 2025, VBI also recorded over 1,000 cases of damage, with an estimated compensation payment of over VND500 billion. Currently, the company is still urgently completing procedures to proceed with advance payments and compensation payments, supporting people and businesses to quickly overcome losses, stabilize their lives and production and business activities.
Amidst the strong wave of digital transformation in the insurance industry, VBI has accelerated investment in and application of technology, digitizing processes, especially in claims services, to meet the increasingly high demands for accuracy, transparency, processing speed, and customer experience.
VBI is also one of the leading businesses in the digital insurance market, continuously launching new digital insurance and microinsurance products, while expanding cooperation and making digital insurance products available on many major banking and financial applications. This not only meets the needs of customers for quick and convenient insurance purchases but also demonstrates a timely adaptation to domestic and international market trends.
Emphasizing social responsibility alongside economic development, VBI proactively organizes and implements programs to contribute to the community and society every year. A prime example is the "Bright Future" project, a series of activities including building schools and libraries, donating books, equipment, and learning materials to students in disadvantaged areas. Thanks to its nationwide network of member units, this project has been widely implemented by VBI in many provinces and cities, helping thousands of students have better learning opportunities and access to knowledge, enabling them to take control of their bright future.
Recently, in response to the severe impact of storms and floods in many provinces and cities, VBI quickly organized programs to visit, assist, and support people and local authorities in provinces such as Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Lang Son, Hue, Da Nang, Gia Lai… to overcome damage and stabilize their lives.
