SSI completes capital increase to nearly VND25,000 billion

 Thursday, January 29,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - SSI Securities has just completed the issuance of 415.18 million shares, bringing its charter capital to VND24,932 billion - the highest among securities companies.

On January 23, 2026, another historical milestone was reached in the Vietnamese securities industry with the emergence of a securities company with a charter capital of nearly VND25,000 billion, significantly larger than many banks.
Specifically, SSI Securities Joint Stock Company (code: SSI) announced the completion of the issuance of 415.18 million shares - bringing SSI's charter capital to VND24,932 billion, raising over VND6,227 billion from nearly 90,000 domestic and foreign shareholders.
Unlike previous defensive capital increases, this VND6,200 billion was allocated by SSI with a clearly aggressive approach.
According to the plan, half of the capital (over VND3,114 billion) will be disbursed for margin lending – a business segment that recorded a surge of 92% in Q4/2025.
The remaining half will be used to supplement capital for safe financial instruments such as certificates of deposit.
The shareholder structure after the issuance will have two major shareholders: Daiwa Securities Group Inc (holding 15.27% of the capital) and NDH Investment Company Limited, chaired by Nguyen Duy Hung (holding 7.91%).
SSI's 2025 financial report sets many new records. The parent company's operating revenue reached VND12,624 billion, an increase of 54% compared to the previous year. Net profit after tax reached VND3,917 billion – the highest level in the company's history since its establishment.
In Q4 2025 alone, operating revenue increased by 71%, driven by the boom in three key pillars: proprietary trading contributing VND1,592 billion (up 53%); lending (margin) contributing VND1,098 billion (up 92%); and brokerage contributing VND630 billion (almost double compared to the same period).
The balance sheet of SSI at the end of 2025 shows significant changes. Total assets are approaching VND93,000 billion. Of this, loans (mainly margin) have increased sharply by VND17,000 billion in just one year, reaching VND38,940 billion.
Conversely, SSI narrowed its listed stock portfolio from VND1,300 billion to only VND178 billion. Blue-chip stocks such as HPG, FPT, and VPB, while still present, have seen a significant decrease in their weighting. Instead, SSI is focusing its resources on the FVTPL portfolio with over VND37,600 billion, concentrating on bonds and certificates of deposit.
