MHC contributes VND61.38 Billion to subsidiary in real estate sector

AsemconnectVietnam - MHC Joint Stock Company (stock code MHC - HOSE) will contribute additional capital in a capital issuance to existing shareholders of MHC Land Joint Stock Company, a real estate company.
MHC will contribute VND61.38 billion to MHC Land Joint Stock Company, equivalent to the purchase of 6,138,000 additional shares.
After the capital contribution, the charter capital of MHC Land is expected to increase from VND138 billion to VND200 billion, and MHC's ownership stake in MHC Land will remain unchanged.
As of September 30, 2025, MHC owns 2 subsidiaries, 1 joint venture/associated company, and employs 18 people. Specifically, MHC has invested VND136.62 billion in MHC Land, is setting aside a provision of VND9.36 billion, and holds 99% of the charter capital of MHC Land – which primarily operates in the real estate business; its address is on the 18th floor, 52 Le Dai Hanh Street, Hai Ba Trung Ward, Hanoi.
According to our research, MHC started as a transportation company, operating in the fields of waterway and road transport, warehousing, and goods storage. After the 2008 crisis – when the maritime transport industry stagnated and revenue plummeted – the company began to shift towards financial investment.
By 2015, the company significantly increased its investment in the stock market, from an initial investment of only VND0.35 billion to VND187.2 billion by the end of 2015, accounting for 40.4% of total assets. At its peak, during the period 2016-2018, the proportion of securities investments accounted for 83.6% to 85.7% of total assets.
From 2020 to the present, MHC's profits have depended almost entirely on the performance of its stock portfolio.
Furthermore, as of September 30, 2025, MHC still had VND104.04 billion invested in stocks, equivalent to 11.7% of total assets (at the beginning of the year it was VND450.2 billion).
MHC also incurred accounts receivable from securities purchase deposits amounting to VND178 billion at the end of the third quarter (at the beginning of the period it was VND 0). Although the company did not disclose details, if combined with the existing investment portfolio, the total value related to securities accounted for 31.6% of total assets - a large proportion for a company primarily operating in the transportation sector.
