Vietnam clinches two gold medals at int’l badminton series

Vietnamese athletes won two gold medals in the categories of men’s and women’s singles at the Felet Vietnam International Series 2025 finals in Bac Ninh province on November 2.
Vietnam joined four out of five finals, including the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles.
In the women’s singles final, Vu Thi Trang of Vietnam edged the first game 21–19 but lost the second 18–21 to Tonrug Saeheng of Thailand. In the decisive third game, Trang regained control, using her experience to build a steady lead.
Vu Thi Trang overcame her Thai opponent’s strong play, winning the final game 21–11, clinching the match 2–1 and securing the gold medal for Vietnam.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles final, Le Duc Phat of Vietnam faced Jewel Angelo Albo of the Philippines in a closely contested match. Albo took the first game 21–15 with precise play, but Duc Phat adjusted his strategy in the second, using powerful smashes and clever shot placement to win 21–13.
In the decisive third game, after falling behind early, Duc Phat steadied his play and launched strong counterattacks, ultimately winning 21–15. With a 2–1 overall victory, he secured a gold medal for Vietnam.
The Felet Vietnam International Series 2025 was held from October 28 to November 2, attracting 253 players from 18 countries and territories, across five categories. Vietnam competed with 87 athletes and coaches./.
