Nearly 300 athletes join Ninh Binh int’l badminton tournament

The LI-NING Vietnam International Series 2025 kicked off in Ninh Binh province on October 21, bringing together nearly 300 athletes.
Jointly organised by the provincial Department of Culture and Sports and the Vietnam Badminton Federation, the tournament is a Level-2 international event under the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
This year’s competition gathers athletes from 19 countries and territories, namely Australia, Canada, the US, Germany, the Cook Islands, Indonesia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, the UAE, Venezuela, and host Vietnam.
Matches are being held in five categories, comprising men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
The event provides an important opportunity for athletes to gain international experience and earn valuable BWF ranking points to contribute to their global standings. It also serves as a platform for boosting experience sharing, sportsmanship, and friendship among participants, helping promote the growth of badminton in Vietnam and the broader sports community.
Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, said that the event is not only a celebration of sports but also an opportunity to showcase the beauty of Ninh Binh’s landscapes and the hospitality of the Vietnamese people.
The tournament promises exciting and high-level matches and stands as a meaningful event to introduce Ninh Binh’s nature and people to international friends and visitors./.
