 Monday, July 21,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic pepper prices remained unchanged at VND 137,000 – VND 140,000/kg on July 21, 2025.

Export and import volumes are both decreasing. The U.S. has reclaimed its position as the largest importer of Vietnamese pepper in early July, although export volumes remain low. Meanwhile, the Chinese market shows no signs of recovery.
• In Đắk Lắk and Đắk Nông (Lâm Đồng Province): VND140,000/kg
• In Gia Lai and Đồng Nai: VND137,000/kg (Gia Lai down VND1,000)
• In Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (Ho Chi Minh City) and Bình Phước (Đồng Nai): VND138,000/kg
Prices are stable compared to yesterday morning.
Last week: pepper prices fell by VND1,000 – VND2,000/kg, except in Đắk Nông (unchanged).
According to VPSA (Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association):
In the first 17 days of July 2025, Vietnam exported 10,808 tonnes, worth USD70.3 million – down 7.8% in volume and 11.1% in value compared to the same period in June.
Top export markets:
• U.S.: 1,472 tonnes
• UAE: 1,290 tonnes
• China: 1,072 tonnes
Top 5 exporters:
• Nedspice Vietnam: 1,181 tonnes
• Phúc Sinh: 919 tonnes
• Olam Vietnam: 745 tonnes
• Simexco Đắk Lắk: 562 tonnes
• Haprosimex JSC: 452 tonnes
Imports:
• Vietnam imported 1,738 tonnes, valued at USD12.2 million in the same period—down 53.2% from June.
• Olam was the largest importer (40.9%) at 711 tonnes.
• Top suppliers: Brazil (924 tonnes), Cambodia (334 tonnes), Indonesia (322 tonnes).
China’s imports fell sharply—from 1,904 tonnes (first 17 days of June) to nearly half in July. U.S. exports also slowed as businesses await the new 20% tariff.
Outlook:
Prices are expected to continue fluctuating within a narrow range. In the short term, prices are likely to remain stable due to low inventories. After August 1, exporters may leverage the U.S. tariff advantage to increase shipments.
