Immediate customs clearance for agricultural, forestry and fishery exports prioritized

AsemconnectVietnam - The Customs Department requests to facilitate and prioritize immediate customs clearance for agricultural, forestry and fishery exports, especially durian.
On May 28, the Customs Department (Ministry of Finance) issued Official Dispatch No. 6491/CHQ-GSQL to the Regional Customs Sub-Departments regarding the export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products and durian.
Implementing the Prime Minister's direction in Official Dispatch No. 59/CD-TTg dated May 8, 2025 on focusing on directing the assurance of production, consumption and export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the context of global trade fluctuations and Official Dispatch No. 71/CD-TTg dated May 23, 2025 on a number of tasks to promote sustainable durian production and export, the Customs Department requests the Customs Sub-Departments of the regions to direct their affiliated units to:
Firstly, to create conditions and prioritize immediate customs clearance for export goods of agricultural, forestry and fishery products, especially durian and perishable goods, goods at the time of main harvest; promptly resolve problems arising in the process of implementing customs procedures for exporting goods.
Second, to closely coordinate with relevant agencies, regularly update the situation, promptly provide information on import policies and tariff policies of countries to enterprises exporting agricultural, forestry and fishery products through border gates in the area.
Third, to strictly handle cases causing trouble for enterprises.
Previously, the Official Dispatch No. 59/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister stated that in order to proactively respond to the impacts of trade instability, ensure stable production and consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products, and improve people's income and living standards, the Ministers of the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, Industry and Trade, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Science and Technology, the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities, according to their assigned functions and tasks, continue to closely monitor the situation and developments in global trade, proactively direct and promptly and flexibly deploy appropriate and effective solutions to proactively respond to challenges caused by trade instability. At the same time, to provide timely information so that agricultural, forestry and fishery production, trading and export enterprises can proactively and flexibly adapt to import policies and tariff policies of importing countries to stabilize agricultural, forestry and fishery production and export.
Agricultural, forestry and fishery production, trading and export enterprises should closely monitor information on global trade developments to flexibly adjust production and business plans; promote the construction of linkage chains, invest in developing raw material areas, cold storage systems, apply modern technology to production, deep processing, preservation of agricultural products, and brand building.
In addition, they should regularly grasp the agricultural import policies of countries, avoid being passive and surprised by policy changes of importing countries; increase the purchase of agricultural and fishery reserves, especially during peak harvest periods to support people's consumption and serve deep processing, improving product quality.
