Some key tasks and solutions of the Agricultural and Environmental sector in 2025
In order to achieve the growth targets and export turnover of farm, forestry and seafood products set for this year, Mr. Tran Gia Long stated that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will implement 7 key tasks and solutions as follows:
1. Perfecting the institutions, policies serving industry growth and the export of agriculture, forestry, and fishery products; synchronously and effectively implementing resolutions, strategies, programs, schemes, plans, and industry development plans.
2. Continuing to promote industry restructuring, improve product yield, quality, added value, and the efficiency of agricultural, forestry, and fishery production and business.
3. Vigorously promoting administrative procedure reform to serve the people and businesses.
4. Strengthening digital transformation, achieving breakthroughs in the application and transfer of science, technology, and innovation.
5. Promoting the development of domestic and export markets.
6. Strongly promoting industries and fields supporting agricultural, forestry, and fishery production.
7. Strengthening communication on agricultural development and environmental protection.
Regarding the fifth task and solution, Mr. Tran Gia Long said that the ministry will strengthen trade promotion, market opening, and negotiations to remove technical and trade barriers, and open official export channels for more agricultural products into traditional markets and markets with large total export turnover such as China, the United States, EU, Russia, Brazil, Japan, and South Korea.
At the same time, the Ministry will also open up new markets with great potential (Halal food from Islamic countries, the Middle East, Africa, etc.) with the motto of product diversification and market diversification, contributing to gradually reducing small-scale exports across the northern border as well as improving the efficiency of negotiation, market opening, trade promotion, and handling trade issues.
For the domestic market, the ministry will have a clear roadmap and plan to promote domestic consumption of products with high seasonality (such as vegetables, flowers, and fruits) that are easily affected by natural and weather conditions, leading to reduced quality. Solutions will be implemented to stabilize the market and control price fluctuations of some agricultural and fishery products, animal feed, and agricultural materials.
At the same time, measures to ensure food safety for both domestic and export markets will be strengthened, ensuring the quality of agricultural products throughout the supply chain from production, processing, and trade to consumers in the country and foreign markets.
