Imports from Canada increased by 21.6% in first 3 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's imports from the Canadian market in March of 2025 reached 47.1 million USD, down by 39.4% compared to the previous month.
The country’s total imports from Canada in the first 3 months of 2025 reached 193.6 million USD, up by 21.6% over the same period last year.
The leading import turnover in March of 2025 was soybeans, reaching 4.3 million USD, down by 76.2%, the total in the first 3 months reached 27.3 million USD, up by 60.2%, accounting for 14.1% of the proportion. The next was wheat, reaching 18.7 million in 3 months, down by 35.5%, accounting for 9.6% of the proportion.
In 2024, most items had a significant increase in import turnover compared to the previous year. Specifically, the imports of iron and steel scrap increased by 169.4%; pharmaceuticals increased by 91.6%; rubber increased by 208.3%.
Vietnamese community as well as Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs in Canada have made efforts to directly contribute to consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam-Canada Comprehensive Partnership in all areas, especially when both countries are members of the CPTPP Agreement.
