Ukrainian cyclist wins stage 19 of national cycling tournament

AsemconnectVietnam - The 37th edition of the HCM City TV Cup began on April 3 in the northern province of Tuyen Quang, covering over 3,000km across 25 stages. It is expected to end on April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City to mark the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
Ukrainian rider Ivan Blokhin sprinted to victory in stage 19 of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup - Ton Dong A 2025, held on April 24 along the 169km route from Phan Thiet to Vung Tau.
This mountainous stage featured two sprint checkpoints in La Gi and Xuyen Moc, and a challenging climb at Nuoc Ngot Pass.
Blokhin from Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang team surged ahead in the final stretch, capitalising on strong team support and smart attacks, to outpace Nguyen Nhat Phat of 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long and Nguyen Anh Huy of Pelio Kenda Dong Nai, who finished second and third respectively. Sprint prizes went to Phat at Sprint 1 and Blokhin at Sprint 2. Pelio Kenda Dong Nai claimed the team title for the stage.
Mikhail Fokin from Loc Troi An Giang retained the Yellow Jersey, while Nick Kergozou from 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long got the Green Jersey. Nguyen Hoang Sang from Maxxis Le Fruit Dong Nai the Orange Jersey, Pham Le Xuan Loc from Military Region 7 the White Jersey, and Savva Novikov from Binh Minh Plastic-Binh Duong the Polka Dot Jersey. Organisers also presented scholarships worth 20 million VND (768 USD) to disadvantaged students at Xuyen Moc Primary School.The next stage from Vung Tau to Bien Hoa spans 120km and features a mix of coastal and inland terrains, testing riders' endurance and strategy.
