AsemconnectVietnam - On Friday, domestic coffee prices in Vietnam ranged between 121,000 and 122,800 VND/kg, continuing to increase compared to the previous day, according to Kinhtedothi.

Global Coffee Market:
At the close of the latest trading session, Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange for May 2025 delivery rose by 64 USD/ton, reaching 4,937 USD/ton. For July 2025 delivery, the price increased by 99 USD/ton to 4,896 USD/ton.
On the New York exchange, Arabica coffee prices for May 2025 delivery rose by 1.15 cents/pound, reaching 342.85 cents/pound, while July 2025 delivery increased by 1.05 cents/pound, reaching 341.6 cents/pound.
According to expert Nguyen Quang Binh, at the beginning of yesterday’s session, excitement following the U.S. decision to postpone tariffs for 90 days led to strong increases on both exchanges. However, as the session progressed, the pace of increase slowed down. Trade war fears created pressure on coffee prices.
The slowdown in coffee price increases was also attributed to a weaker Brazilian Real and the beginning of the Robusta harvest season in Brazil. The U.S. is currently the largest importer and consumer of coffee in the world. Brazil is the biggest coffee supplier to the U.S. market, alongside significant imports from Colombia and other Central and South American countries.
The Vietnam Coffee Producers Forum assessed that global trade war fears have led to declines in the prices of most commodities, including coffee.
Robusta prices rebounded from a four-and-a-half-month low during yesterday’s session, as signs of tighter supply appeared, with Robusta stockpiles dropping to a three-and-a-half-week low of 4,289 lots.
Coffee prices were also supported after Cooxupe, Brazil's largest Arabica coffee cooperative, reported that high temperatures and below-average rainfall last month in Brazil would negatively impact this year's coffee yield.
Coffee exports
According to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam exported 200,000 tonnes of coffee, worth 1.16 billion USD, in March 2025. This is a record figure for the coffee industry in Vietnam.
In the first three months of this year, the volume of coffee exports reached 509,500 tons, with an estimated value of about 2.88 billion USD. The result was a decrease of 12.9% in volume but a significant increase of 49.5% in value compared to the same period in 2024.
This is due to the average export price of coffee in the first three months of the year being around 5,656 USD per tonne, an increase of 71.7% compared to the same period last year. Germany, Italy, and Japan are the three largest coffee consumption markets for Vietnam, accounting for market shares of 16.2%, 9.9%, and 7.4%, respectively.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the value of coffee exports in the first two months of this year to the German market increased by 79.3%, to Italy by 32%, and to Japan by 56%.
Among the 15 major markets, coffee exports increased the most in Poland, with a rise of 3.1 times. Meanwhile, Indonesia was the only market with a decrease in export value (down 37.5%).
