Saturday, April 5,2025
AsemconnectVietnam - The Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HSC, code HCM) has just approved the investment plan in the Tier 2 capital increase bonds of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank, code CTG) with a total value of VND2,000 billion.
The bond lot that HSC invested in is CTG2432T2/02, expected to be issued in the first two weeks of April 2025. According to the plan, VietinBank will offer 40 million bonds, including 30 million bonds with an 8-year term and 10 million bonds with a 10-year term, with a total mobilized value of VND4,000 billion. The objective of this issuance is to increase Tier 2 capital, expand the scale of operations, ensure financial safety ratios according to the regulations of the State Bank, and at the same time serve the lending needs of the economy.
The CTG2432T2/02 bond lot has a floating interest rate, adjusted periodically every 6 months. This interest rate is determined by the reference interest rate plus a margin of 1.05%. In which, the reference interest rate is the average interest rate of 12-month term deposits paid in arrears at four major banks including Vietcombank, VietinBank, BIDV and Agribank.
The interest will be paid periodically every 6 months, while the principal will be paid in full on the maturity date or according to the early repurchase terms. This is a non-convertible bond, without collateral, without warrants and fully meets the criteria to be included in Tier 2 capital of VietinBank.
As of December 31, 2024, HSC is holding a private bond portfolio worth VND5,000 billion, issued by major banks such as BIDV, MB and VietinBank. These bonds will be issued in 2024 and have maturity dates from 2031 to 2032.
In addition to bonds, HSC's investment stock portfolio also focuses on the banking group, including STB (VND437.5 billion); ACB (VND398.4 billion); TCB (VND85 billion); MBB (VND56 billion); VPB (VND48.2 billion); HDB (VND48.15 billion); VCB (VND26 billion).
