EVNGENCO3 (PGV): Estimated 2-month electricity production revenue reaches VND5,845 billion

 Sunday, March 30,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - The total electricity production output of the Corporation in February 2025 reached 1.94 billion kWh. The electricity production revenue of the parent company EVNGENCO3 in February 2025 is estimated at VND2,861 billion.

Power Generation Corporation 3 - Joint Stock Company (EVNGENCO3, code PGV - HoSE) has just sent investors a report announcing the production and business situation in February and the plan for March 2025. Accordingly, the total electricity production output of the Corporation reached 1.94 billion kWh in February 2025, equivalent to 104.67% compared to the same period in 2024. The cumulative electricity output in 2 months reached 3.979 billion kWh, reaching 108.4% of the plan and increasing by 4.7% compared to the same period last year.
Compared to the estimated electricity output in 2025 according to the plan for electricity supply and operation of the national power system assigned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVNGENCO3 and its subsidiaries and affiliates have completed 13.6% of the target. The electricity output produced at Phu My Thermal Power Plant reached 624 million kWh, contributing the most to the total output.
On the entire power system, hydropower plants are mobilized according to system dispatch with the goal of maintaining high water levels in hydropower reservoirs, ensuring electricity supply in the dry season. At the same time, hydropower plants have carried out irrigation and dumping for the 2025 Winter-Spring crop as planned. The electricity output produced and imported by the entire system in February 2025 reached 22.2 billion kWh, an increase of 12.5% compared to February 2024. Cumulative electricity output in the first 2 months reached 45.1 billion kWh, up 3.1% over the same period in 2024.
EVNGENCO3 said that hydropower plants were mobilized according to hydrological conditions and system requirements. Coal-fired thermal power plants were highly mobilized according to the power system's needs to ensure load demand and support maintaining water levels in hydropower reservoirs. Gas-fired thermal power plants were mobilized according to gas supply capacity and system needs.
With the above output, the electricity production revenue in February 2025 of the parent company EVNGENCO3 is estimated at VND2,861 billion, and the cumulative revenue in the first 2 months is estimated at VND5,845 billion, equivalent to 11.8% of the yearly plan. In terms of revenue structure, Phu My Thermal Power also contributed the largest proportion (36% of total revenue), followed by Vinh Tan Thermal Power (31%), Mong Duong Thermal Power (27%) and Buon Kuop Hydropower (6%).
The coal supply for the Corporation's coal-fired thermal power plants ensures electricity production. The average gas price paid for Phu My thermal power plants increased slightly last month.
According to the plan, in March 2025, the planned electricity output of the entire Corporation according to the electricity supply and operation plan of the national power system assigned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade is 2.66 billion kWh. Of which, the planned electricity output of the parent company is 2.443 billion kWh. The electricity output of subsidiaries and associated companies is targeted to reach 218 million kWh.
The Corporation will continue to work with partners to proactively ensure fuel supply during the peak period of the 2025 dry season. EVNGENCO3 also continues to carry out O&M work for Phu My 3 and Phu My 2.2 power plants. Previously, in early February 2025, Power Generation Corporation 3 officially took over the management, operation, repair and maintenance (O&M) of Phu My 2.2 Power Plant under a service contract. In order to maintain safe and efficient operation of the generators, the leaders of Power Generation Corporation 3 requested EVNGENCO3 Power Plant Repair Service Company (EPS) to continue to promote research, master technology, apply technical solutions, build O&M processes, and improve the efficiency of operation and repair work. At the same time, EVNGENCO3 will continue to promote investment cooperation and develop new power source projects such as Ninh Binh Flexible Power Plant, offshore wind power, solar power, LNG power, etc.
Ready for peak mobilization in the dry season of 2025
To successfully complete the task of providing stable power supply during the peak months of the dry season and the whole year of 2025, EVNGENCO3 has actively responded to and implemented the emulation movement launched by EVN with the theme "Safe, stable and efficient operation in power supply", the plants are always ready, operate safely, continuously, economically, and meet the mobilization method of the National Power System. In addition, Power Generation Corporation 3, EVN and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have sent working groups to thermal power plants to inspect the actual situation of fuel preparation and management and operation of the plants.
During the peak period of the dry season from March to July 2025, the total planned electricity output of EVNGENCO3 is 13.84 billion kWh. Power plants under EVNGENCO3 will need about 1.75 million tons of coal. To ensure that the factories operate continuously and provide enough electricity according to the load demand, the Corporation has proactively worked with partners, TKV, and Dong Bac Corporation to provide enough coal for the factories according to the contract. With the current coal reserves in the warehouses of Vinh Tan 2 and Mong Duong 1 factories and the commitment of coal suppliers, the Corporation will ensure enough coal for electricity production in the dry season of 2025, ready to meet high mobilization requirements of the system. For gas power plants under EVNGENCO3, the Corporation has requested the factories to proactively work with gas suppliers, closely monitor the gas supply situation to ensure optimal power generation plans. At the same time, the factories also store DO oil according to the prescribed standards and prepare to receive LNG gas according to the contract for backup when mobilized. Along with proactive fuel, factories are always ready and complete equipment repair and maintenance work well to respond quickly to the system's operating method.
