AsemconnectVietnam - In efforts to expand its international presence, Werder Bremen has identified Vietnam as a key market for football development.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Vu Quang Minh visited Bremen and viewed a football match between Werder Bremen and TSG Hoffenheim on February 18, part of a series of activities marking 50 years of the two countries' diplomatic relations.
In a meeting with Werder Bremen leaders, Ambassador Minh reflected on the countries' achievements over the past five decades, noting progress across various sectors, from politics, diplomacy, economy to sports, culture, and education.
In efforts to expand its international presence, Werder Bremen has identified Vietnam as a key market for football development. It has engaged in local events and promote football education in the Southeast Asian nation.
Dominik Kupilas, head of business development and internationalisation of Werder Bremen, highlighted the club's partnership with the Football for All Vietnam (FFAV) initiative, which aims to develop grassroots football and life skills education. In 2024, the club made three visits to Vietnam and hosted many training sessions, particularly in women’s football.
Kupilas described these visits as crucial to the club's long-term commitment to Vietnam, expressing hope for further cooperation in the future.
Founded in 1899, Werder Bremen is one of Germany’s most successful football clubs, boasting numerous national and international titles.
The club continues to build its presence in Vietnam by offering youth football training, hosting viewing events, promoting exchanges, and showcasing Vietnam’s football talent on the global stage./.
