Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) reduces another VND1,000 billion in bond debt
Sunday, January 12,2025AsemconnectVietnam - Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAGL - code HAG) has just reported paying an additional VND824 billion for the HAGLBOND16.26 bond lot, of which BIDV is the bondholder, on December 30, 2024.
Previously, on December 29, HAGL paid VND206 billion for this bond lot. Thus, HAGL still owes VND766 billion in principal on this bond lot.
In the bond payment notice, HAGL said the reason for not fully paying off this bond debt is that it has not yet liquidated some of the company's unprofitable accounts. The company also stated the expected payment date for the remaining amount is the second quarter of 2025.
HAGL also confirmed that the source of money for bond payment in the last days of the year was the VND1,000 billion that Hoang Anh Gia Lai International Agriculture Joint Stock Company paid to HAGL.
According to the financial report for the third quarter of 2024, HAGL still has VND4,126 billion in short-term debt and VND3,097 billion in long-term debt. After paying off the bond debt, HAGL's debt has decreased to more than VND6,000 billion.
In addition to BIDV bondholders, some banks providing credit to HAGL are Loc Phat Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank (LPBank) with VND1,626 billion, Tien Phong Joint Stock Commercial Bank (TPBank) and Saigon Thuong Tin Joint Stock Commercial Bank (Sacombank), lending VND459 billion and VND556 billion, respectively.
Recently, HAGL has worked with other banks to find credit with more competitive interest rates. Accordingly, in the fourth quarter of 2024, HAGL reduced its debt at LPBank and switched to borrowing from Orient Commercial Bank (OCB).
