Long-term industrial growth solutions

 Monday, January 13,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - In 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to promote the restructuring of the industrial sector towards increasing the proportion of processing and manufacturing industries and reducing the proportion of processing and assembling for industrial products produced in Vietnam; gradually removing difficulties for enterprises to increase competitiveness, building technical barriers for imported products to support domestic products, increasing the localization rate.

Some economic experts believe that the processing and manufacturing industry is considered the number one driving force in expanding production and exports of the economy. This is also the industry that has been continuously expanded and accounts for the highest proportion among industrial sectors with its contribution to GDP increasing continuously over the years.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, by 2025, there will still be many challenges that the economy in general and industrial production in particular will have to face, such as the internal strength of domestic production sectors is still weak; industrial production has not fully recovered; The world and regional situation continues to evolve rapidly, complicatedly and unpredictably; the domestic market growth is lower than the same period last year, the domestic price index is under increasing pressure after implementing a number of new policies.
Therefore, in 2025, the processing and manufacturing industry still has a lot to do. Specifically, in the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will deploy 4 groups of solutions to continue promoting industrial production in general and the processing and manufacturing industry in particular.
First, continue to proactively and effectively implement business support policies approved by the Government, thereby removing difficulties and obstacles in the production and business activities of enterprises - especially in key export industries such as textiles, leather - footwear and fundamental industries such as automobiles, mechanics, steel, etc.; promote the operation of new industrial production projects to serve export and domestic consumption, creating more capacity for production development and goods sources for export.
Second, focus on advising on perfecting institutions, policies, laws, and development strategies for a number of fundamental industries, prioritizing them as a basis for new growth resources in the industries in the short term as well as in the long term. Third, continue to promote the effective implementation of working programs with localities and existing business support programs to restore and promote industrial growth in localities and key economic regions.
Fourth, encourage increased purchases of domestically produced goods, minimize the use of imported products and raw materials that have been domestically produced; promote the search for new markets for key export industries such as textiles, footwear, electronics, etc.
The Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade) also said that it is necessary to have policies and solutions to financially support industrial enterprises, especially processing and manufacturing enterprises, so that enterprises have stable production and business conditions. Enterprises restructure, reduce costs and production prices to enhance product competitiveness, thereby improving efficiency and adapting flexibly to the new situation. On that basis, the Ministry will focus on restructuring the industry and trade sector, associated with renewing the growth model towards enhancing the application of science and technology and innovation, improving productivity, quality, efficiency, competitiveness, autonomy, adaptability and resilience of the economy.
