According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, although the global and regional economies are still facing many challenges, Vietnam's e-commerce continued to maintain an impressive growth rate, reaching 18 - 25% per year.
In 2024, the e-commerce market size is forecast to exceed 25 billion USD, up by 20% compared to 2023, accounting for about 9% of the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue nationwide.
Currently, the e-commerce market size accounts for 2/3 of the country's digital economic value and helps Vietnam enter the Top 10 countries with the fastest e-commerce growth rate in the world, creating momentum for economic development and leading digital transformation in businesses.
Notably, cross-border e-commerce is identified as a lever for online exports.
In order to support and promote e-commerce activities and develop the digital economy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has organized many activities on regional linkages for e-commerce development, exhibitions of technologies, digital transformation solutions, smart manufacturing, e-commerce applications, and stimulating domestic consumption.
Thereby promoting the development of regional e-commerce, helping to increase people's awareness of e-commerce and promoting investment, infrastructure development, and technology solutions of Vietnamese enterprises.
