IR AWARDS 2024: HDBank affirms its position in international investor relations
Thursday, September 26,2024AsemconnectVietnam - On September 24, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank, stock code: HDB) was voted as "Listed enterprise in the financial sector with large capitalization and Investor Relations activities most favored by Investors", according to the results announced at IR Awards 2024 co-organized by Vietstock, Vietnam Association of Financial Administrators (VAFE) and Fili Magazine.
Along with other listed banks such as Vietinbank and MBBank, this award recognizes the right direction in the Bank's management strategy and outstanding effectiveness in investor relations of HDBank.
In the stock market over the past years, HDBank has also stood out with impressive business results, being one of the listed enterprises with the highest profit growth in the market in 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024. HDBank's return on equity (ROE) in the first half of this year's update reached 26.1%, the highest in the industry. The bank also maintains a high and stable dividend policy over the years, of which the 2023 dividend is up to 30%, including cash and shares. The 2024 General Meeting of Shareholders approved the dividend payment plan for 2024 (implemented in 2025) at a rate of up to 30%, of which the maximum cash dividend is up to 15%. Currently, HDBank's market capitalization has exceeded VND78 trillion, ranking among the top enterprises in the VN30 and VNDiamond baskets. Surpassing 708 listed companies on HOSE and HNX to be included in the nomination list, HDBank has affirmed its capacity through a systematic and strategic practice in investor relations (IR). The Bank's continuous efforts in applying international standards on corporate governance, ensuring transparency and safety in operations have helped the capital market understand the intrinsic value of HDBank, while bringing maximum benefits to shareholders.
Focusing on IR work, HDBank regularly organizes open dialogue events with domestic and foreign investors, with the participation of senior leaders. The Bank has applied modern technology to facilitate investors to contribute their opinions. IR activities are also a core part of HDBank's ESG (Environment, Society, Governance) strategy, aiming at international standards and building sustainable value for shareholders.
By developing ESG-oriented IR activities, HDBank has not only attracted the trust of domestic investors but also attracted international capital flows. Speaking at the HDBank Annual General Meeting of Shareholders earlier this year, Ms. Fernanda Lima, Representative of LeapFrog Investments (UK), said that the Fund has actively accompanied HDBank in implementing programs and plans such as ESG development and credit for female customers. In 2024, LeapFrog Fund is committed to continuing to accompany HDBank, especially in investing in green growth, agriculture and rural areas, female-owned businesses and community activities.
Also at the congress, Mr. Juenemann Marc Oliver - Representative of DEG Investment Fund (Development Finance Institution under the German Reconstruction Bank KFW) shared that DEG has invested in HDBank since 2020. With a special focus on ESG and governance issues, this is the key for HDBank to create value for shareholders and help organizations become stronger. That is also the focus for this Investment Fund to provide support, accompany HDBank, as well as support strong initiatives towards the future like at HDBank.
The interest and appreciation of foreign investment funds such as IFC, Proparco, PYN, Affinity, DEG, LeapFrog... is clear evidence that HDBank has affirmed its position in the international market, while opening up many opportunities for strategic cooperation to help the bank continue to develop strongly in the future.
Before achieving this award, HDBank has been continuously honored by the State Securities Commission, Stock Exchanges and prestigious organizations with many prestigious awards such as "Large-cap listed enterprise with the best General Meeting of Shareholders" and "Listed enterprise with the best annual report"... HDBank's Board of Directors was also voted by the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD) as the Board of Directors of the year 2024.
