Vietnam strives for steady growth in industrial production in last months of 2024

 Monday, September 16,2024

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the final months of 2024, the international and domestic context has favorable factors, but production and trade development faces many difficulties and challenges.

The geopolitical tensions and competition from major countries are increasing, and the recovery of major trading partners is still slow. Along with that, the risk of disruption to the global supply chain, production chain, and high freight rates directly affect import and export activities and Vietnam's highly open economy.
Talking to the Industry and Trade Newspaper about solutions to "maintain the pace" of industrial growth in the last months of the year and in 2025, Mr. Pham Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will focus on solutions to increase added value for domestic industrial production, promote the implementation of the Supporting Industry Development Program.
"The Ministry of Industry and Trade will closely coordinate with localities, associations, and enterprises to closely follow the regional and world market situation, creating maximum convenience for customs clearance, export and import of goods, especially raw materials and auxiliary materials for domestic production" - Mr. Pham Tuan Anh stated.
Providing additional solutions for industrial development in the coming time, the leader of the Department of Industry affirmed that it will continue to promote the restructuring of the industrial sector towards increasing the proportion of processing and manufacturing industries and reducing the proportion of processing and assembly for industrial products manufactured in Vietnam; gradually remove difficulties for enterprises to increase competitiveness, build technical barriers for imported products to support domestic products, increase the localization rate, etc.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade supports enterprises to take advantage of opportunities from large public investment projects and the Government's real estate market recovery policies; encourage increased purchases of domestically produced goods, limit the use of imported products and raw materials that have been domestically produced; continue to seek new markets for key export industries.
In addition, the Department of Industry will focus on key solutions, effectively implementing business support policies approved by the Government to remove difficulties and obstacles in the production and business activities of enterprises. In particular, in key export industries such as textiles, footwear and foundation industries such as automobiles, mechanics, steel, etc., promote the operation of new industrial production projects to serve export and domestic consumption, increase production development capacity and export goods sources.
In addition, production and business units need to closely follow the market, expand activities to find new customers; strengthen the connection of production - consumption chains; balance inventory and consumption to ensure cash flow as well as product quality, and arrange production flexibly to maintain optimal production activities. Importantly, associations and industries need to strengthen business connection activities, promote the consumption of each other's products. "Enterprises and industry associations need to make the most of opportunities from new-generation free trade agreements to find new orders and customers" - Mr. Pham Tuan Anh said.
