Ambassador meets with Paralympic athletes in Paris
Monday, September 9,2024AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang on September 7 came to the Olympic Village on the outskirts of Paris to meet with the Vietnamese delegation competing in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Nguyen Hong Minh, head of the Vietnamese delegation, briefed the diplomat on the athletes' performance, saying that they had successfully achieved their goals, with weightlifter Le Van Cong securing a bronze medal. Although other athletes did not win medals, they performed admirably, with several ranking in the top 5 globally and one in the top 7.
Thang praised the athletes' dedication and hard work, noting that their successes brought pride not only to themselves but also to Vietnamese people both at home and abroad.
Presenting the team with a meaningful gift, he hoped that they would continue to excel on the global and regional stages.
Later that day, the Vietnamese athletes visited the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France to offer incense at the altar of late President Ho Chi Minh and met with the Vietnamese community in France./.
