Which items does Vietnam export the most to Russian market?
Wednesday, July 17,2024AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 6 months of 2024, textiles and garments were items with the highest turnover of 398 million USD, accounting for 33.9% of total export value to Russian market.
According to data released by General Department of Customs, Vietnam's export of goods to Russian market in the first half of 2024 reached 1.17 billion USD, an increase of 44% compared to the 812 million USD recorded in the same period last year.
Out of 22 main items exported to Russia, textiles and garments were items with the highest turnover of 398 million USD, accounting for 33.9% of total export value to this market. Coffee followed with 189 million USD; machinery, equipment, tools and other spare parts reached 117 million USD.
Items in group with turnover of over 100 million USD all had good growth compared to the same period last year in the first half of 2024. Specifically, textile and garment export turnover to Russia increased by 86% compared to the same period last year and exports of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts increased by 102% compared to the same period last year. Coffee exports to this market, although slightly higher than the above two items, still reached +35% compared to the same period last year.
In agricultural and aquatic products group, Vietnam exported aquatic products to Russia reaching 95 million USD, up 105% compared to the same period last year; vegetables and fruits reached 32 million USD, up 24% compared to the same period last year; cashew nuts reached 32 million USD, up 58% compared to the same period last year.
Pepper export turnover also increased by 98% compared to the same period last year, to 15 million USD; Rice increased by 76% compared to the same period last year, reaching 3.7 million USD. Pepper was only item in the group that decreased in turnover with -3.3% compared to the same period last year, to 5.8 million USD.
In garment group, in addition to textiles, Vietnam also exported footwear to Russia with a value of 4.7 million USD, down 59% compared to the same period last year.
In raw material group, Vietnam exported rubber to this market reaching 18.9 million USD, up 21% compared to the same period last year; rubber products with 4.4 million USD, down 12% compared to the same period last year...
In electronics group, Vietnam also exported computers, electronic products and components to Russia with a turnover of 12.5 million USD, up 12% compared to the same period last year; phones and components with 4.4 million USD, down 4.3% compared to the same period last year.
Out of 22 main export items to Russia in the first half of 2024, 6 items had a decrease in turnover compared to the same period last year and 16 items increased in value.
