Vietnam's main commodity export markets 4 months

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the data from the General Department of Customs, by the end of April of 2024, Vietnam's total export turnover reached 123.99 billion USD, an increase of 15.1% (equivalent to an increase of 16.26 billion USD) compared to same period last year.

Notably, the 10 largest export markets all had positive growth including: United States, EU, China, ASEAN, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong (China), India, Canada, Australia. Among them, the three largest markets with the most impressive growth include the United States, China, and the EU.
The United States continued to be Vietnam's largest export market for goods in the first 4 months of 2024
Vietnam's total export turnover of goods to the US market in the first 4 months of 2024 reached 34.72 billion USD, an increase of 21.2% (equivalent to an increase of 6.07 billion USD) compared to the same period last year. With this result, the United States continued to be Vietnam's largest export market.
In April of 2024 alone, Vietnam's goods exports to the US market reached more than 8.9 billion USD, an increase of 0.12% compared to the previous month.
Currently, more than half of Vietnam's export value to the US is high-tech products (consumer electronics, smart phones), garments and footwear, the rest is other products such as furniture and agricultural products.
In the first 4 months of 2024, leading export turnover was computers, electronic products and components reaching more than 6.79 billion USD, up by 43.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 19.5% of the total. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 5.63 billion USD, up by 5.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 16.2%. And then was textile and garment products reaching 4.4 billion USD, accounting for 12.6% of export proportion; phones and components reached 3.81 billion USD, an increase of 21.8%; wood and wood products reached 2.66 billion USD, an increase of 31.9%; and footwear of all kinds reached 2.4 billion USD, up by 14.2%.
Items with increased export turnover in the first 4 months of 2024 compared to the same period last year included plastic products increased by 47.9%; iron and steel of all kinds increased by 156.5%; and pepper increased by 60%.
The US is currently leading Vietnam's export markets. Meanwhile, Vietnam has become a major trading partner of the US and an important link in the supply chain of many goods for the US market.
Among Vietnam's exports to the US, agricultural products, aquatic products, furniture, decorations, etc. occupy a very important position because these are strong product groups of Vietnam and the US that have great demand.
The EU was Vietnam's second largest export market for goods in the first 4 months of 2024
Data from the General Department of Customs showed that, in the first 4 months of 2024, Vietnam's goods exports to the EU market reached 16.33 billion USD, an increase of 15.2% (equivalent to an increase of 2.15 billion USD).
China was Vietnam's third largest export market for goods in the first 4 months of 2024
According to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first 4 months of 2024, Vietnam's export of goods to the Chinese market reached 17.57 billion USD, an increase of 13.4% (equivalent to an increase of 2.08 billion USD).
