Export enterprises continue to gain momentum

 Monday, May 13,2024

AsemconnectVietnam - Export market has many positive signs with increased consumer demand helping Vietnamese export enterprises confidently make a breakthrough.

Export market gradually recovers thanks to reduced inventories and increased consumer demand, which is expected to be foundation for Vietnam's export enterprises to make a breakthrough. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung - General Director of T&T Vina Company said that the enterprise has just successfully signed many large and long-term orders.
Accordingly, each week, the enterprises will export 2 containers of fresh coconuts to the Dubai market, 1 container of seedless lemons and dragon fruit each week to Oman market.
"These are highly stable orders. When we harvest goods, we can fully distribute them to the entire market. Instead of selecting goods for export, the rest will have to go to retail as before", Mr. Tung emphasized and added that as general market becomes more difficult, demand for fruits and vegetables industry increases. Export turnover of fruits and vegetables in the first 4 months of the year is very good, especially with durian exports to China or grapefruit to New Zealand, Australia, the US...
Gradually escaping difficulty of a lack of orders from the end of 2022 to the end of 2023, from the beginning of the year until now, textile export orders have grown again. Mr. Pham Van Viet - Chairman of Viet Thang Jean Company, said that from the beginning of the year until now, export orders at this enterprise have recovered and grown well compared to the same period last year.
According to Mr. Viet, not only Viet Thang Jean, enterprises in the textile and garment industry also recorded increased export orders. The reason is that the markets have recovered, buyers' inventories are below the minimum level, so they have started importing goods again. Thanks to that, purchasing power in the four traditional markets of Vietnam's textile and garment industry increased.
With wood industry, Mr. Dien Quang Hiep, General Director of Minh Phat 2 Company, acknowledged that major markets such as the US and Europe are showing many positive signs as consumer demand for goods gradually increases again. This promotes an increase in export orders, including wood and wood products. In the first 4 months of 2024, export activities of wood industry recorded a positive growth rate, about 65 - 70% compared to 2022. With current growth momentum, it is forecast that wood industry will have many positive prospects in 2024.
However, Mr. Hiep also noted that main export markets of wood industry increasingly require strict control of wood origins to ensure legality, without affecting degradation, deforestation, green production, reducing greenhouse gas emissions...Along with that, increasing risk of trade fraud and counterfeiting of product origin is also a big challenge for wooden furniture export enterprises.
And for wood industry to develop sustainably, in addition to meeting regulations and standards on origin and environment, enterprises must focus on investing in design, creativity and enhancing added value of their products. "Enterprises need to invest in new technology and digital transformation to develop new products and services, improve competitiveness, increase efficiency and higher productivity", Mr. Hiep said.
