In the first 4 months, cinnamon exports earned 65.2 million USD
Thursday, May 9,2024AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 4 months of 2024, Vietnam exported 22,352 tonnes of cinnamon, worth 65.2 million USD, down 9.4% in volume and 11% in value compared to the same period last year.
According to data from Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in April 2024, Vietnam exported 6,386 tonnes of cinnamon, total export turnover reached 19 million USD, an increase of 16.2% in volume compared to with last month.
Main export markets of Vietnamese cinnamon include: India reaching 1,815 tonnes, an increase of 62.1%; The United States reached 942 tonnes, an increase of 2.3%; Bangladesh reached 848 tonnes, an increase of 32.1%; Iran reached 217 tonnes, an increase of 267.8% and the UAE reached 212 tonnes, an increase of 133% compared to March.
Leading exporters in the month included: Prosi Thang Long reached 840 tonnes, Olam Vietnam reached 500 tonnes, Tuan Minh reached 471 tonnes, Son Ha Spices reached 408 tonnes and Senspices Vietnam reached 189 tonnes.
Overall, in the first 4 months of the year, Vietnam exported 22,352 tonnes of cinnamon, total export turnover reached 65.2 million USD, compared to the same period in 2023, export volume decreased by 9.4% and value decreased by 11%.
India is Vietnam's largest cinnamon export market reaching 6,132 tonnes, accounting for 27.4%, however compared to the same period last year, it decreased by 32.9%. The United States, the second largest export market, reached 3,137 tonnes, accounting for 14% and increasing by 13.9%; Bangladesh ranked the third with 2,042 tonnes, accounting for 9.1% and down 34.8% over the same period last year.
Leading exporters include: Prosi Thang Long reaching 2,748 tonnes, Son Ha Spices reaching 1,722 tonnes and Olam Vietnam reaching 1,126 tonnes.
