Rice export forecast for the whole year of 2024
Although there are objective factors that are difficult to predict, experts and businesses all assess that the rice industry's market in 2024 will continue to be positive. However, Vietnam's rice export price still depends largely on India's move to consider lifting the ban.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development aims to export about 8 million tonnes of rice in 2024.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in 2023, Vietnam's rice exports reached about 8.29 million tonnes of rice, bringing in a value of 4.78 billion USD, an increase of 16.7% in volume and an increase of 38.4% in value compared to 2022. This is a record high number in more than 30 years of participating in rice export.
However, the Government did not decide to ban rice exports when proving that Vietnam still ensures domestic food security and increases exports.
