Vietnam targets good performance in Asian Cup’s last match
Thursday, January 25,2024AsemconnectVietnam - Head coach Philippe Troussier said on January 23 that the men’s national football team will try their best to have a good performance in their last Group D match against Iraq at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
The match is scheduled to take place at 18:30 (Vietnam time) on January 24 in Doha, Qatar. After two defeats, Vietnam is the first team ousted from the continental tournament. Meanwhile Iraq has qualified for the next stage after two wins.
The match will not help Vietnam to go on, but they are aiming for a complimentary result that will show their effort and determination.
In the last four meets, Iraq beat Vietnam three times and drew one. In the most recent game, Iraq won 1-0 during the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers last November in Hanoi./.
