Export turnover to the US in 2023 reached more than 97 billion USD
Wednesday, January 17,2024AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from General Department of Customs, export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the US market in 2023 reached 97 billion USD, down 11.3% over the same period last year.
Currently, more than half of Vietnam's export value to the US is high-tech products (consumer electronics, smartphones), garments and footwear, the rest is other products such as furniture and agricultural products.
In 2023, leading export turnover is a group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 18.1 billion USD, down 9.8%, accounting for 18.7% of export turnover. The next is the group of computers, electronic products and components, reaching 17 billion USD, an increase of 6.7%, accounting for 17.5% of export turnover. The following is textiles and garments, reaching 14.4 billion USD, accounting for 14% of the export proportion.
Products with increased export turnover in 2023 compared to the same period last year: Cameras, camcorders and components increased by 20%; paper and paper products increased by 13.9%; rice increased by 53.4%.
The US is currently leading Vietnam's export markets. Meanwhile, Vietnam has become a major trading partner of the US and an important link in supply chain of many goods for the US market.
Out of Vietnam's exports to the US, agricultural products, aquatic products, furniture, decorations... occupy a very important position because these are strong product groups of Vietnam and the US market have great demand.
