Rubber exports brought in 2.51 billion USD after 11 months
Friday, December 22,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 11 months of 2023, rubber exports reached over 1.87 million tonnes, worth of 2.51 billion USD, up by 0.01% in volume, but down by 14.7% in value compared to the same period of 2022.
The information from the Import-Export Department (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that in November of 2023, the amount of rubber exported increased compared to the previous month, but still decreased compared to the same period last year. According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, in November of 2023, Vietnam exported 253,310 tonnes of rubber, worth of 348.43 million USD, an increase of 16.1% in volume and an increase of 18.6% in value compared to October of 2023. In comparison to November of 2022, it decreased by 0.1% in volume, but increased by 1.3% in value.
In the first 11 months of 2023, rubber exports will reach over 1.87 million tons, worth 2.51 billion USD, up 0.01% in volume, but down 14.7% in value compared to the same period in 2022. .
In November of 2023, China was still Vietnam's largest rubber export market, accounting for 82.55% in volume and 81.65% in value of the country's total rubber exports, reaching 209,000 tonnes, worth of 284.5 million USD, up by 16.3% in volume and 18.3% in value compared to October of 2023. In comparison to November of 2022, it increased by 0.03% in volume and 2.6% in value.
This was the 10th consecutive month that the amount of rubber exported to China has increased compared to the same period of 2022. The average price of rubber exported to China was at 1,361 USD/tonne, up by 1.8% compared to October of 2023 and an increase of 2.5% compared to November of 2022.
In the first 11 months of 2023, Vietnam exported 1.48 million tonnes of rubber to China, worth of 1.96 billion USD, up by 7.9% in volume, but down by 5.8% in value compared to the same period last year.
Besides, in November of 2023, the amount of rubber exported to some markets grew well compared to the same period last year, notably: to Sri Lanka increased by 1,175%; to the United States increased by 78.9%; to India increased by 56.3%; to Japan increased by 52.5%; and to South Korea increased by 37%.
However, in the first 11 months of 2023, rubber exports to most markets still declined compared to the same period last year, especially large markets such as India, the United States, Germany, Taiwan, and Turkey, Sri Lanka, Russia, Indonesia, Spain, etc. Rubber exports to several markets still grew well in volume compared to the same period of 2022, such as China, South Korea, Netherlands, Singapore, and Czech Republic.
