AsemconnectVietnam - Fruit and vegetable exports continued to be the bright spot of the economy with impressive growth in September.

According to the preliminary statistics figures just announced by the General Department of Customs, in September of this year, Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable export turnover reached 667 million USD, an increase of 43.7% compared to the previous month. In comparison to the same period of 2022, the increase was even more impressive with 167% (equivalent to an increase in turnover of nearly 420 million USD).
By the end of September, fruit and vegetable export turnover reached 4.2 billion USD, up by 72.5% over the same period last year.
Among Vietnam's "billion dollar" export products, fruits and vegetables have the most impressive growth.
The growth of fruit and vegetable products has a major contribution from the recovery in the Chinese market.
After this neighboring country restored normal import-export and immigration activities at the Northern border from January of 2023, Vietnam's agricultural exports, including vegetables and fruits, to China increased impressively.
By the end of September, fruit and vegetable export turnover to this market alone reached 2.7 billion USD, up by 160% over the same period last year and accounting for 65% of the country's total fruit and vegetable export turnover.
Thus, after just 9 months, fruit and vegetable export turnover to China exceeded about 1.2 billion USD compared to the results of the whole year of 2022 (last year the figure reached 1.52 billion USD).
