AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 9 months of 2023, India was Vietnam's largest cinnamon export market with the export volume of 30,195 tonnes, an increase of 28.3% and accounting for 44.7% of the market share.

The preliminary statistics figures from the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), in September of 2023, Vietnam exported 5,651 tonnes of cinnamon with the total export turnover of 16.4 million USD. In comparison to the previous month, the export volume decreased by 44.5% equivalent to a reduction of 4,524 tonnes.
Nearly all major export enterprises in the cinnamon industry reduced their exports in September, of which Prosi Thang Long decreased by 52.5%; Son Ha decreased by 25.3%; Tuan Minh decreased by 15.2%; Expo Commodities fell 22.1%; Senspice Vietnam decreased by 51.5%, etc.
India was still the main export market in September but the export volume decreased by 48.8% to 2,915 tonnes; followed by the United States, down by 23.2% to 683 tonnes.
Totally from January 1 to September 30, 2023, Vietnam exported 67,503 tonnes of cinnamon, the total export turnover reached 199.8 million USD, an increase of 20.3% in volume and a decrease of 1% in value compared to with the same period of 2022.
The average export price of cinnamon in the first 9 months of 2023 reached 2,960 USD/tonne, down by 18.4% over the same period last year.
India was Vietnam's largest cinnamon export market, reaching 30,195 tonnes, an increase of 28.3% and accounting for 44.7% of the market share. The next was the US market, reaching 7,532 tonnes, up by 2.9%, accounting for 11.2% market share; Bangladesh reached 4,630 tonnes, an increase of 33.5%, accounting for 6.9% of the market share.
The leading cinnamon exporting enterprises included Prosi Thang Long with 10,924 tonnes, Green Forest T&K reaching 4,970 tonnes; Senspice Vietnam reached 3,984 tonnes and Son Ha Spices reached 3,499 tonnes.
