AsemconnectVietnam - 10.43 billion USD was the total export turnover achieved in August of 2 product groups: computers, electronic products and components; and phones and components.

According to the latest preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in August of this year, computers, electronic products and components achieved the export turnover of 5.28 billion USD, up by 4.4% over the previous month and continuing to remains the largest commodity group in our country.
Meanwhile, phones and components had an impressive growth of 15.7% over the previous month and reached 5.15 billion USD.
Thus, the two largest product groups mentioned above alone reached a total turnover of 10.43 billion USD, accounting for 31.84% of the country's total export turnover in August.
In addition, in August, there were 5 export product groups with a turnover of 1 billion USD or more and most of them had good growth compared to the previous month.
Specifically, the exports of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached 3.62 billion USD, an increase of 2.4%; the exports of textile and garment reached 3.45 billion USD, up by 5.5%; the exports of wood and wood products reached 1.29 billion USD, an increase of 15.1%; the exports of transport vehicles and spare parts reached 1.21 billion USD, an increase of 5.7%.
Among the "billion USD" product groups, only footwear saw a decrease in export turnover compared to July of 2023. In August of this year, the exports of this group of items reached 1.72 billion USD, down by 4%.
In August, the country's total export turnover reached 32.76 billion USD, an increase of 9% (equivalent to an increase of 2.69 billion USD) compared to the previous month.
In the first 8 months of the year, the country's exports reached 228.17 billion USD, down by 9.8% (equivalent to a decrease of 24.79 billion USD).
