Rubber exports reached 1.59 billion USD in first 8 months of 2023
Sunday, September 10,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 8 months of 2023, Vietnam’s rubber exports reached about 1.18 million tonnes, worth of 1.59 billion USD, down by 1.4% in volume and down by 20.7% in value compared to the same period of 2022.
The Import-Export Department (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) cited data from the General Department of Customs as saying that Vietnam's rubber exports in August of 2023 reached about 200,000 tonnes, worth of 260 million USD, down by 8.9% in quantity and down by 9.5% in value compared to July of 2023.
In comparison to August of 2022, it decreased by 8.8% in volume and 21.9% in value. The average rubber export price was 1,298 USD/tonne, down by 0.6% compared to July of 2023 and down by 14.4% compared to August of 2022.
Totally in the first 8 months of 2023, Vietnam’s rubber exports reached about 1.18 million tonnes, worth of 1.59 billion USD, down by 1.4% in volume and down by 20.7% in value compared to the same period of 2022.
In the first 7 months of 2023, Vietnam's exported rubber types are mainly mixed natural rubber and synthetic rubber (HS 400280), Latex, SVR 10, SVR 3L, SVR CV60, RSS3, SVR 20, etc.
Among them, the mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber (HS 400280) was still leading, accounting for 66.6% in volume and 66.95% in value of total rubber exports of the whole country, with 656,990 tonnes, worth of 895.06 million USD, an increase of 19.3% in volume, but a decrease of 4.7% in value compared to the same period of 2022.
Of which, the exports to the Chinese market accounted for 99.69% in volume and 99.54% in value of the total exports of mixed natural rubber and synthetic rubber, with 654,960 tonnes, worth of 890.98 million USD, an increase of 19.3% in volume, but a decrease of 4.8% in value compared to the same period of 2022.
