Fertilizer exports continued to decrease in first 7 months of 2023
Tuesday, August 15,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 7 months of 2023, Vietnam exported 942,576 tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds, equivalent to 391.05 million USD, with an average price of 414.9 USD/tonne.
According to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in the first 7 months of 2023, the whole country exported 942,576 tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds, equivalent to 391.05 million USD, the average price was 414.9 USD/tonne, down by 15% in volume, down by 45.8% in turnover and 36.2% in price over the same period of 2022.
Particularly in July of 2023, the country exported 141,006 tons of fertilizers of all kinds worth of 54.66 million USD, priced at 387.6 USD/tonne, up by 30.6% in volume, up by 17% in turnover but down by 10.4% in price compared to June of 2023. In comparison to July of 2022, it also increased by 25.5% in volume, but decreased by 27.2% in turnover and decreased by 42% in price.
Vietnam's fertilizer exports were mainly to Cambodia, which alone accounted for over 36% of the country's total fertilizer export volume and turnover, reaching 341,219 tonnes, equivalent to 142.59 million USD, the average price was 417.9 USD/tonne, an increase of 15.2% in volume but a decrease of 10.9% in turnover and a decrease in price of 22.6% compared to the same period of 2022. Particularly in July of 2023, the exports to Cambodia reached 49,733 tonnes, equivalent to 19.69 million USD, the average price was 395.9 USD/tonne, down by 21.2% in volume and 27.2% in turnover, the price decreased by 7.6% compared to June of 2023.
Behind Cambodia's main market was Malaysia with 56,824 tonnes, equivalent to 18.45 million USD, the average price is 324.6 USD/tonne, down by 38% in volume, down by 59.2% in turnover and down by 34.5% in price, accounting for 6% of the total volume and 4.7% of the total fertilizer export turnover of the country.
The exports to the South Korean market reached 48,484 tonnes, equivalent to 17.93 million USD, the average price was 369.9 USD/tonne, a sharp decrease of 41.2% in volume, 71% decrease in turnover and 50.8% decrease in price, accounting for 5.1% of the total volume and 4.6% of the total turnover.
Meanwhile, the exports to RCEP FTA markets reached 541,390 tonnes, equivalent to 223 million USD, down by 16.2% in volume, down by 42.5% in turnover. Te exports to CPTTP FTA markets reached 60,508 tonnes, equivalent to 20.13 million USD, down by 42.9% in volume, down by 63.2% in turnover. And the export to the Southeast Asian market reached 489,222 tonnes, equivalent to 203.38 million USD, down by 11% in volume, down by 35.7% in turnover.
