Fertilizer exports decreased by 43.7% in turnover in first 4 months of 2023
Monday, May 29,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 4 months of 2023, Vietnam exported 537,269 tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds, equivalent to 232.17 million USD, with an average price of 432 USD/tonne.
According to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in the first 4 months of 2023, the whole country exported 537,269 tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds, equivalent to 232.17 million USD, the average price was 432 USD/tonne, down by 14.4% in volume, down by 43.7% in turnover and 34.2% in price compared to the first 4 months of 2022.
In April of 2023 alone, the country exported 131,913 tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds, reaching 48.49 million USD, priced at 367.6 USD/tonne, up by 4.2% in volume but down by 11.2% in turnover and down by 14.8 % in price compared to March of 2023. In comparison to April of 2022, the decrease in volume, turnover and price was 11.4%, 52.4% and 46.2% respectively.
Cambodia was leading the list of the country’s main fertilizer export markets, accounted for over 28% of the total volume and total export turnover of fertilizers of the whole country, reaching 151,471 tonnes, equivalent to 65.55 million USD, the average price was 432.8 USD/tonne, increased by 3.4% in volume but decreased by 18.2% in turnover and the price decreased by 20.9% compared to the first 4 months of 2022. Particularly in April of 2023, the exports to this market reached 46,284 tonnes, equivalent to 18.09 million USD, the average price was 390.9 USD/tonne, up by 4.9% in volume and 0.3% in turnover, but the price decreased by 4.5% compared to the previous month.
South Korea followed with 47,738 tonnes, equivalent to 17.58 million USD, the average price was 368.3 USD/tonne, up by 10.8% in volume, but down by 48.7% in turnover and decreased by 53.8% in price, accounting for 8.9% of the total volume and 7.6% of the total fertilizer export turnover of the country.
The exports to the Malaysian market reached 38,004 tonnes, equivalent to 12.94 million USD, the average price was 340.5 USD/tonne, a sharp decrease of 42.8% in volume, 54.6% decrease in turnover and 20.6 % decrease in price, accounting for 7% of the total volume and 5.6% of the total turnover.
The exports to FTA RCEP markets reached 290,218 tonnes, equivalent to 123.68 million USD, down by 15.4% in volume, down by 39% in turnover, while the exports to FTA CPTTP markets reached 40,674 tonnes, equivalent to 14.23 million USD, down by 46.5% in volume, down by 59.8% in turnover. The exports to the Southeast Asian market reached 239,810 tonnes, equivalent to 104.82 million USD, down by 17.4% in volume, and down by 35.2% in turnover.
