Imports of animal feed reached nearly 1.54 billion USD in first 4 months of 2023

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first four months of 2023, Vietnam’s imports of animal feed and raw materials reached nearly 1.54 billion USD, up by 7.1% compared to the first four months of 2022.
According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s imports of animal feed and raw materials in April of 2023 decreased by 10.9% compared to March of 2023 and decreased by 6% compared to April of 2022, reaching 369.94 million USD. Generally, in the first 4 months of 2023, the country’s imports of this group of products reached nearly 1.54 billion USD, up by 7.1% compared to the first 4 months of 2022.
Argentina was leading the list of the country’s main import markets of animal feed and materials, accounting for 25.8% of the country's total import turnover of this commodity group, reaching over 396.13 million USD, up by 3.9% compared to the first 4 months of 2022. In April of 2023 alone, the figure reached 37.92 million USD, a sharp decrease of 48.3% compared to March of 2023 and 67.6% decrease compared to April of 2022.
The second place was the Indian market, accounting for 18.3%, reaching over 281.25 million USD, a sharp increase of 242.5% over the same period of 2022. In April of 2023 alone, the imports from this market reached nearly 79.5 million USD, down by 29% compared to March of 2023 and increased sharply by 276.9% compared to April of 2022.
The next was the US market. In April 2023, the country’s imports of animal feed and materials from the U.S market increased sharply by 38% compared to March of 2023 and increased by 75.4% compared to April of 2022, reaching nearly 62.75 million USD. In the first 4 months of 2023, the imports from this market increased by 28.4% compared to the first 4 months of 2022; reaching 233.83 million USD, accounting for 15.2% of the total turnover.
The imports of animal feed and raw materials from the Southeast Asian market in the first 4 months of 2023 decreased by 21% compared to the first 4 months of 2022, reaching 98.74 million USD.
