Binh Phuoc: rare otters handed over to rescue centre
Tuesday, April 11,2023AsemconnectVietnam - Two Asian small-clawed otters weighing 2.4 kg each on April 10 were handed over to a centre for animal rescue, conservation and development under the Bu Gia Map National Park in the southern province of Binh Phuoc.
Earlier, in the morning of the same day, a resident in Loc Ninh town found the otters eating fish in her pond. After being caught, the animals were brought to local competent agencies so that they can be released back to the wild.
Asian small-clawed otter (Aonyx cinereus) belongs to Group IB of rare wild animals restricted from being held in captivity, hunted and used for commercial purposes./.
