Vietnam - India trade exchange reached nearly 12.08 billion USD in 9 months

AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, the two-way trade relations between Vietnam and India in the first 9 months of 2025 reached nearly 12.08 billion USD, an increase of 6.6% over the same period of 2024.
In particular, goods imported from India into Vietnam reached over 4.35 billion USD in the first 9 months of 2025, an increase of 1.89% over the first 9 months of 2024.
In September of 2025 alone, import turnover decreased by 3.34% compared to August of 2025, reaching over 497.57 million USD but increased by 4.85% compared to September of 2024.
In the opposite direction, goods exports to India reached nearly 7.73 billion USD in the first 9 months of 2025, an increase of 9.46% compared to the first 9 months of 2024. Thus, Vietnam's trade surplus with India in the first 9 months reached nearly 3.38 billion USD, an increase of 21.04% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
In 2024, the two-way trade relationship between Vietnam and India reached over 14.89 billion USD, an increase of 3.72% compared to 2023. The trade surplus with India in 2024 reached 3.23 billion USD, an increase of 22.8%.
The largest group of imported goods from India in the past 9 months was common metals, reaching nearly 545.31 million USD, accounting for 12.53% of the total import turnover of all kinds of goods from this market, a sharp increase of 73.32% compared to the first 9 months of 2024. The group of imported machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts from India ranked second in terms of turnover, reaching 365.38 million USD, accounting for 8.4% of the total turnover, down 10.91%. The next was the group of aquatic products reaching over 364.5 million USD, accounting for 8.38%, a sharp increase of 102.87%; auto components and spare parts reached 258.78 million USD, accounting for 5.95% of the total turnover, down by 12.64%.
