Exports to UK reached over 4.6 billion USD in first 7 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics from the Customs Department, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the UK market in the first 7 months of 2025 reached over 4.6 billion USD, an increase of 8.5% over the same period last year.
The leading export items in the first 7 months of 2025 were telephones of all kinds and components reaching 820.1 million USD, an increase of 2.3%, accounting for 17.5% of the proportion; followed by footwear of all kinds reaching 640.7 million USD, an increase of 12%, accounting for 13.6% of the proportion; followed by machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 611.2 million USD, accounting for 13% of the export proportion.
In the first 7 months of 2025, some items had a significant increase in export turnover compared to the same period last year, such as coffee increased by 93.2%; pepper increased by 116.2%; vegetables and fruits increased by 55.2%.
The UKVFTA Agreement has become a bridge to bring Vietnam's strong goods to the UK market, helping to increase bilateral trade turnover. In particular, it is noted that the presence of different Vietnamese brands by product group, reaching from 12% - 19%. The main export items are textiles, footwear, mechanical products, aquatic products, of which textiles, footwear, agricultural and aquatic products benefit the most.
With the tariff reduction roadmap of the UKVFTA Agreement, Vietnamese goods are gradually gaining a prominent advantage over similar products from other countries that do not have an FTA with the UK.
Vietnamese enterprises exporting to the UK need to carefully research information about the market, enterprises, and partners to avoid being scammed or cheated. On the other hand, enterprises need to strictly control the entire production process, ensure traceability, food hygiene and safety, etc.; clearly identify market segments; conduct in-depth research on market tastes and trends.
