Fertilizer exports decreased by 43.2% in first 8 months of 2023
Friday, September 29,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 8 months of 2023, the country exported over 1.1 million tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds, equivalent to 449.95 million USD, the average price was 408.8 USD/tonne.
According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, in the first 8 months of 2023, the country exported 1.1 million tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds, equivalent to 449.95 million USD, the average price was 408.8 USD/tonne, down by 10.3% in volume, 43.2% decrease in turnover and 36.7% decrease in price compared to the same period of 2022.
In August of 2023 alone, 158,088 tonnes of fertilizers of all kinds were exported, reaching 58.89 million USD, priced at 372.5 USD/tonne, up by 12% in volume, up by 7.8% in turnover but down by 3.9% in price compared to July of 2023. In comparison to August of 2022, it also increased by 34% in volume, but decreased by 16.5% in turnover and decreased by 37.7% in price.
Vietnam's fertilizer exports were mainly to the Cambodian market. Cambodia alone accounted for over 36.5% of the total volume and 37.3% of the country's total fertilizer export turnover, reaching 401,941 tonnes, equivalent to 167.74 million USD, the average price was 417.3 USD/tonne, up by 19.6% in volume but down by 6.8% in turnover and down by 22.1% in price compared to the same period of 2022. In August of 2023 alone, the exports to this market reached 60,723 tonnes, equivalent to 25.15 million USD, the average price was 414.2 USD/tonne, up by 22% in volume and 27.7% in turnover, the price was up by 4.6% compared to July of 2023.
Behind the main market of Cambodia was the Malaysian market with 67,711 tonnes, equivalent to 22.5 million USD, the average price was at 332.3 USD/tonne, down by 35.9% in volume, down by 58.9% in turnover and down by 35.9% in price, accounting for 6.2% of total volume and 5% of the country's total fertilizer export turnover.
The exports to the Korean market reached 49,025 tonnes, equivalent to 18.18 million USD, the average price was 370.8 USD/tonne, a sharp decrease of 42% in volume, 71.2% decrease in turnover and 50.4% decrease in price, accounting for 4.5% of total volume and 4% of total turnover.
The exports to FTA RCEP markets reached 637,637 tonnes, equivalent to 262.96 million USD, down by 11.4% in volume and 39% in turnover while the exports to FTA CPTTP markets reached 72,177 tonnes, equivalent to 24.47 million USD, down by 40.5% in volume, down by 62.5% in turnover. The exports to the Southeast Asian market reached 584,146 tonnes, equivalent to 242.81 million USD, down by 5.7% in volume and 32.3% in turnover.
