Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong, head of the Vietnamese sub-committee, and Minister of State for Trade Policy Greg Hands, head of the UK sub-committee, co-chaired the meeting on June 11.
At the event, the two sides discussed cooperation in education – training, culture – tourism, agriculture, finance, renewable energy, intellectual property, market control and counterfeit prevention.
They affirmed the commitment to making efforts to bolster bilateral trade as expected in the joint statement on the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership, signed in 2010.
As part of the meeting, the Vietnam-UK Business Forum was held by the UK Department for International Trade, the administration of Manchester city, the UK-ASEAN Business Council and the Vietnamese side. During their working visit, the Vietnamese delegation also attended the international business festival in Liverpool on June 13 and had a meeting with Vietnamese and UK firms in London on June 14.
JETCO is one of the effective dialogue channels helping to tackle barriers to bilateral trade and creating a more optimal business climate for the two countries’ businesses.
