Vietnam’s import and export in October and first 10 months

Vietnam’s trade revenue reached nearly US$ 28.13 billion in October, slightly increased by 1 per cent over the previous month, according to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
In the first ten months of this year, the country’s total trade revenue hit $ 272.4 billion, up by 11 per cent over the same period last year. The export turnover in the first ten months of this year was at $ 134.41 billion, up by 8.3 per cent year – on – year; and the import value was at $ 137.99 billion, up by 13.7 per cent.
Trade revenue of domestic economic and FDI sectors
The total trade revenue of domestic economic sector reached $ 99.1 billion in the first ten months of this year, down by 0.7 per cent over the same period last year. Meanwhile, the trade revenue of FDI sector reached $ 173.31 billion, up by 18.9 per cent year – on – year.
In the first ten months of this year, the export turnover of domestic economic sector decreased by 9.7 per cent to $ 42.65 billion while that of FDI sector increased by 19.4 per cent to $ 91.76 billion.
The import value of domestic economic sector increased by 7.4 per cent to $ 56.44 billion in the first ten months while that of FDI sector increased by 18.5 per cent to $ 81.55 billion.
Vietnam’s major import and export markets
At the end of October, the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and almost all continents was up, excluding Oceania.
Especially, the trade exchange with America increased by 19.9 per cent and with Africa - up by 13.9 per cent.
The total trade exchange between Vietnam and Asia in the first ten months of this year reached $ 176.27 billion, up by 10.1 per cent and accounted for 64.7 per cent of the country’s total trade revenue.
The trade with America totaled $ 45.97 billion, up by 19.9 per cent; with Europe - $ 38.75 billion, up by 11.4 per cent; with Oceania - $ 4.89 billion, down by 16.8 per cent; and with Africa - $ 4.48 billion, up by 13.9 per cent.
