  Vietnam’s coffee exports to the EU surged in the first eight months of the year thanks to the EVFTA (Wednesday, October 29,2025)

The EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which took effect in August 2020, has provided a significant boost to Vietnam’s coffee exports to the EU. According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, from an export value of only USD64 million in August 2020, Vietnam’s coffee exports to the EU increased 7.2 times, peaking at USD466 million in March 2025. However, shipments continuously fell month-on-month from April to August 2025 due to end-season limited supply and reliance on inventories while the new harvest had yet to arrive.
